Dining Out for Life
Thurs., April 26, 2012
Want to enjoy the most satisfying meal you’ll ever eat? Then join us for this year’s Dining Out for Life event that will be held on Thurs., April 26, 2012.
When you dine at a participating restaurant, one-third of your food bill is donated to support local services in the fight against AIDS. Last year, over 200 restaurants in the Philadelphia area (including the four surrounding counties, Delaware and New Jersey) participated in this event.
Family and Community Service will again be the Delaware County affiliate and beneficiary of funds raised from this event. Participating restaurants agree to contribute a one-third share of their food receipts and 100% of any donations received that day to support our Agency’s services to persons living with HIV/AIDS.
Check back to find out which restaurants in Delaware County will be participating. FCS’s Board members, staff and volunteers will be on hand at each restaurant to greet diners and answer any questions regarding Family and Community Service’s programs for persons living with HIV and AIDS. Our Agency provides services to over 4,000 Delaware County residents a year, offering case management, counseling and advocacy, as well as assistance with participants’ transportation, housing, and food and nutrition needs. Contributions received from Dining Out for Life also supports the Ralph Moses House, FCS’s supportive housing facility in Chester for homeless men with HIV/AIDS which prepares residents with skills to manage their health care needs, and successfully transition to independent and self-sufficient living in the community.
So treat yourself to a meal that keeps on giving! Know a restaurant that wants to participate or want to volunteer to help that night? Call Trish Fulvio at 610-566-7540, ext. 228 for more information.
